Each player has a [img=icon_star] star rating from one to five which corresponds to their top price in the Mr Football system For instance, no fully-trained player with a three-star rating is priced higher than a four-star or lower than a two-star player.
When recruited, all players start at one star, but those whose rating is higher than one can be merged to form a more powerful player. Abilities and prices are improved through merging.
