These series come in two types: six forwards versus six backs, or two teams of a ruck and five midfielders.
Event points are awarded for wins, but bonus points can also come from beating a higher-ranked team or meeting certain targets during the match. Ranking lowly on the carnival ladder loses you event points, which means that even though entry to a carnival is free you can’t just keep piling up points by entering again and again with a poor team.
